EVENING RECEPTION

 Breton food and drinks

After the prizes award ceremony for the best talks and posters, there will be a free evening reception to give you a further opportunity to expand your scientific contacts and network while trying French and Breton delicacies and drinks.

The Brittany region is renowned for its famous Kouign Amann ("butter cake"), crêpes, galettes and cider. The event will introduce you to a great selection of local food, which you could then explore further at Brittany’s biggest market Marché des Lices (if you stay for the weekend). For more details please see Rennes Tourism Office.

 Kouign Amann

Kouign Amann (pictured here at Marché des Lices) is Breton for "butter cake".
It originated around 1860 in the Finistére region of Brittany.
Here you can try your hand at making this Breton delicacy!
